AutoProof Privacy Policy

What AutoProof does

AutoProof helps you build a personal car service history by scanning or importing service receipts, reviewing AI-extracted fields, saving confirmed service records, creating reminder suggestions, and previewing or exporting a maintenance-history PDF. AutoProof is not an OBD scanner, diagnostic tool, repair advisor, insurance-claim service, finance product, fleet system, fuel tracker, trip tracker, or Carfax replacement.

Information you choose to save

You may save vehicle details such as nickname, make, model, year, current mileage, mileage unit, optional VIN, service records, service notes, receipt or invoice content, reminder dates or mileage, usage limits, entitlement status, exported report records, feedback, and support messages. AutoProof stores app data on your device and, when backend features are enabled, in AutoProof's backend systems. Receipts may contain personal information such as names, addresses, VINs, shop details, payment snippets, and other information visible on the document.

Receipt and AI processing

When you choose to analyze a receipt image, AutoProof sends the image and related request data to the AutoProof backend for processing. AutoProof uses Convex infrastructure for backend functions and storage, and uses OpenAI models for optional receipt parsing. OpenAI receipt-parsing requests are configured with request storage disabled. The parser extracts service type, service date, mileage, shop, cost, service items, confidence, warnings, and editable reminder suggestions. AI output can be incomplete or wrong, and nothing becomes part of your saved service timeline until you review and confirm it.

If you only use a receipt image for parsing and do not save it as an attachment, AutoProof uses the image to return the editable draft and does not intentionally keep the original image as a saved receipt attachment. AutoProof may keep non-image processing records such as an image hash, parsed fields, model name, request status, timestamps, size, confidence, warnings, and error details for security, abuse prevention, debugging, quota enforcement, cost accounting, and product operation. If you save a receipt attachment, it remains linked to the saved service record until you delete that record or request account/data deletion.

Usage, support, and payments

AutoProof may record product events such as onboarding completion, scan attempts, receipt uploads, parsing results, confirmed service records, reminder creation, report preview, paywall views, purchase attempts, feedback, and deletion requests. These events are used for app functionality, security, debugging, and product operation. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple; AutoProof receives entitlement status and product identifiers needed to unlock paid features, but does not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

Tracking

AutoProof does not sell your data and does not use your data for third-party advertising tracking.

Retention and deletion

AutoProof keeps saved vehicles, service records, reminders, receipt attachments, generated report records, usage records, entitlement records, feedback, support messages, and backend records for as long as needed to provide the app features you use, unless you delete them or request server data deletion.

Delete Local Data in the app removes AutoProof vehicles, service records, reminders, usage, entitlement state, active drafts, and related saved app data from that device. Server data deletion requests submitted through the app support link or support page are used to remove or de-identify backend AutoProof records from active systems, including saved vehicles, service records, reminders, receipt files, AI parse records, generated reports, support requests, and account records when present, unless AutoProof must keep limited records for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, billing, dispute handling, or deletion-audit reasons.

Apple handles App Store purchases, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment methods under Apple's terms. AutoProof keeps the entitlement status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, and related billing records needed to unlock paid features, reconcile purchases, prevent fraud, respond to support requests, and meet legal obligations.

Your choices

You control camera, photo library, and notification permissions through iOS. You can use manual entry if you do not want to process a receipt image with AI. You can delete local app data in Settings and request server data deletion through the app support link or support page.
